While some people use the New Year to reflect and set goals; for me the rhythm of summer is ripe for the contemplation of one’s personal and professional life. This is the time of year when our bodies and minds naturally slow down, we breathe more deeply and find time for old friends, new adventures and outdoor activities.
The best part is this singular journey takes place relatively unnoticed unless you choose to share. Which by the way I don’t recommend; the opinions of others usually leave us second guessing ourselves. Clarity and action plans are the outcome we want when September arrives.
One item I find invaluable is a legal sized writing pad where one can record the random thoughts that pop into our heads. Don’t censor yourself they are the beginning of what is going to develop.
My goals for September are a couple of minor changes to the Newsletter, the JC Coaching website will be reformatted and have fresh copy. A little bit of tweaking to the magazine and perhaps we will finally have a new name.
Before you start to read all the great summer articles I want to thank the women who take time out of their busy lives to write for TimeFinders and to the professional writers who give me permission to re-publish their work.
Thanks Terri and Alanna for everything that you do. And lastly I am grateful to my readers and clients for your support, feedback and suggestions.
Time Magazine's Nancy Gibbs wrote an insightful article on this season of change To the Time Machine. I wish everyone a safe and happy summer.
